Join our team at the Department of Radiation Oncology! We are seeking a Clinical Nuclear Medicine Physicist to fill a faculty position within the Division of Medical Physics and Engineering. The ideal candidate should have a PhD degree in medical physics or a related field and a strong clinical experience in PET, either in a therapy or diagnostic setting. While ABR certification is preferred, board-eligible candidates are also encouraged to apply. A track record of research in the field of Nuclear Medicine would be beneficial.
As a successful applicant, you will be joining our group in developing a clinical program of excellence in molecular imaging-based radiotherapy with one PET-linac and soon one PET/CT. You will also have the opportunity to participate in the teaching of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, as well as residents in medical physics and radiation oncology.

The appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Based on the applicant's experience, a competitive salary will be offered for this position.
Additionally, the clinical physicist is expected to participate in interested clinical, translational, and technical research projects in the Department. Research projects in the Division of Medical Physics and Engineering, funded by various federal and state agencies including ten active NIH R01 grants, range from small-animal irradiation, PET instrumentation, medical imaging, image-guided therapy, and automatic treatment planning to artificial intelligence. An example research effort in our division is the MAIA Lab (www. utsouthwestern.edu/labs/maia).
