New Grad Program - Associate Database Administrator (Jan '24 Start Date)

Job Description

Epsilon is seeking an Associate Database Administrator to join the Data Warehouse team and will participate in Epsilon's New Grad Program. The Associate Database Administrator will have the opportunity to showcase a balance of skills in database design, physical implementation, user management and performance tuning to support the Data Warehouse environments running on external cloud services providers for Database Marketing clients.

As a participant in the New Grad Program , you will have the opportunity to fast-track your career with Epsilon. The program includes an 8-week training curriculum (both professional & job specific training), a formal mentoring partnership, various networking opportunities (speed networking events, leader meet & greets, group lunches and social events), and long-term career guidance.

Responsibilities May Include (All or Some) Tasks Below:

  • Configure, and manage Data Warehouse Database Systems on Cloud (e.g., AWS Redshift, AWS EMR, Snowflake)
  • Monitor and report on performance metrics, system health, and logging compliance on database services or database appliances
  • Perform database administration tasks including backup and recovery, troubleshooting, performance tuning and SQL optimization
  • Support user management, and troubleshoot data access applications and ad hoc queries
  • Develop and support shell scripts for database activities, such as data loading, unloading, and maintenance
  • Manage data replication, data encryption, backup storage and archiving procedures
  • Follow standards and best practices for availability, security, backup and recovery, and integrity of client databases
  • Provide 24 x 7 x 365 support through on-call rotation
  • Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, or related fields
  • Strong Database SQL and Unix/Linux and shell scripting skills
  • Ability to perform work with minimal supervisory direction
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge on AWS cloud environment
  • Proficiency on programming languages is a plus
