Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day-to-Day Network Support : Act as the go-to person for resolving network-related queries and issues raised by EMEA users. Support escalation calls with Cisco and provide timely and effective resolutions to minimize downtime and disruptions.

  • Implement Network Projects: Lead and participate in various network projects, with a particular focus on RokNet and other relevant initiatives. This involves planning, implementation, testing, and documentation of network enhancements.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures. Generate regular reports on network performance, incidents, and improvements. Prepare detailed network documentation including logical network diagrams, test plans, configurations, and security standards in Microsoft Visio.

  • Monitoring and analyzing network performance and offer support to troubleshoot issues related to a breadth of networking technologies including Cisco routers, switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and wireless solutions within the network infrastructure scope.

  • Planning and performing new deployments, version upgrades and bug fixes on routers, switches, wireless controllers as per company's standards adhering to suitable and stable versions as per Cisco's recommendations.

  • Providing design, implement, and offer support to Cisco Data Center technology (Nexus, UCS, ACI, 6500, 9500, etc), managing and supporting enterprise in DDI (DNS/DHCP/IPAM) solution.

  • Assisting with design of multi-server environments including cloud platforms such as – Azure, AWS (Amazon Web Services), VMware, EHC (Enterprise Hybrid Cloud), NSX (Network Virtualization and Security platform) by developing High-Level network designs (HLDs) and recommend best security practices.

  • Designing, implementing, and supporting key global customers' converged business and manufacturing/industrial networks in parallel with overall business strategies.

  • Coordinating designing and implementing procedures to deploy industry leading SD-WAN, SD-Access, Stealthwatch, Umbrella infrastructure to provide secure, resilient network platforms across the enterprise.

  • Providing technical subject matter expertise, design, implement and ensure delivery and high availability of Rockwell Automation's Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN). Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Virtual Private Network (VPN), extranets.

  • Promoting using of modern technologies, interacting with vendors and research, testing new hardware/software products in labs and present an initiative-taking approach to improve performance, reliability and reduce costs.

  • Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics & telecommunications, automation, ICT or related field, M.Sc preferred

  • 5+ years proven experience as a Network Support Engineer or similar role, with a strong understanding of network protocols, hardware, and software.

  • Cisco, Juniper, or other relevant certifications are highly desirable. Solid knowledge of network security practices and tools.

  • Familiarity with network automation (Ansible, Salt, Chef, YAML), “network as code” or “infrastructure as code”, SD-WAN, SD-Access concepts,

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and changing business requirements.

  • Troubleshooting mindset with a keen eye for identifying and resolving complex network issues. Strong ability to distill information from disparate data sources and the capability to tell the story behind it, as well as recommendations for next steps.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously, motivated to solve problems and have a bias for action. Intellectual curiosity and the ability to question partners across functional areas.
