Hybrid: Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time, but the general expectation is that the employee be onsite an average of three (3) days each week.
The Role
We are to seeking a team simulation support engineer to aid in the utilization of our simulation toolchain within NASCAR race teams. The goal of this position is to provide valuable engineering support that results in on track performance improvement. You will work with race team members and fellow GM support engineers to perform analysis studies using driver-in-loop (DiL) simulators , assist in DiL and offline simulation tool use and education, facilitate team feedback to GM simulation develop entities, aid in development and refinement of vehicle modeling inputs, and help develop baseline simulation settings for on track events. You will be expected to complete all projects to the highest standards. You must be proficient in completing engineering related tasks using computer software, aptitude for proactively engaging with others in vehicle performance related activities and have passion for using highly accurate and numerically efficient models.
What You'll Do:
Play a key role as a performance support engineer embedded within a NASCAR Series racing team
Conduct batch, DOE, correlation, and other performance related studies using the simulation toolchain
Assist race teams in setup and use of Driver in Loop (DiL) simulators
Assist teams in fitment of collected data for the purpose of input to simulation modeling
Be part of the broader simulation support team seeking to continuously improve and investigate methods to utilize the simulation toolchain and increase race team performance
Provide race teams expert knowledge in the simulation toolchain functionality and modeling practices
Represent racing team needs as a stakeholder in the simulation toolchain development process

Additional DescriptionYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
2 years of highly validated experience using simulation or other vehicle dynamics-based modeling software within a Motorsport organization
Highly analytical, customer focused, and structured, with positive relationship and strong communicative skills
Knowledge of using Dymola/Modelica in a simulation toolchain
Exposure to modern software development tooling and environments, preferably C# and Git
Ability to multi-task in a multifaceted, constantly evolving environment, bringing a strong work ethic and integrity
