VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

TITLE: Marketing and Communications Specialist

LOCATION: Athens Campus

SALARY: $39,081 - $42,989

MONTHS TO BE WORKED PER YEAR : 12 months

EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or marketing.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Two (2) years of experience in journalism, communications, marketing or related field.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Interviewing, social media marketing, ad copy writing, editing, photography, web writing, graphic design, audio and video production, and oral presentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops content ideas for a variety of uses (website, print, social media, etc.). Creates, updates, manages, and maintains content for current TVCC social media platforms and new/emerging media, including the coordination and development of content, monitoring interactions, and maintaining accounts. Acts as the primary contact for media; responds to requests for information or designates an appropriate spokesperson or information source. Prepares and distributes press releases. Establishes and maintains relationships with stakeholders in internal and external communications. Monitor news and media presence. Proofreads all communications including announcements to students, newsletters, press releases, and other communications as assigned. Take photographs and/or video at various times on and off campus. Leads media relations efforts with writing, planning, coordination and execution of activities and events that promote the college's image. Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
