    Position Summary

    RMIT Vietnam Market Intelligence & Analytics Department is responsible for providing a wide range of market intel, research evidence and customer insights to reduce risks of the university and inform decision making in brand, products, pricing, competitors, promotion, and channels. We are seeking a highly motivated Market Analyst for our Market Intelligence team, with experience in data collection and analytics techniques and methodologies to collaborate with internal stakeholders and advance the market and educational analytics maturity across the university.

    You will help us implement robust market insight analytics solutions and disseminating actionable insights to stakeholders. Your work will serve as the university's market intelligence hub, bringing expertise on business intelligence and market insight.

    The role is expected to have a solid understanding of the education market and possess leadership capabilities to initiate and drive market intelligence projects as well as efficiently disseminating research and interpretation of insight to stakeholders.

    This role will be in constant communications with both internal & external stakeholders in Vietnam and Melbourne, requiring a working understanding of all stakeholders' functions and department objectives to deliver optimal intelligence solution. This role identifies risks, make improvements to, and streamlines procedures on market intel collection and market intelligence solutions to effectively facilitate projects and enhance quality of deliverables.

    The position is mainly based in HCMC, but the scope of work will cover other regional markets following the university's direction.

    Key Accountabilities

    - Produce regular market updates to maintain Market Alert hub & Market Intelligence hub:

    List of updates on Market Alert hub:

  • Weekly newsletter on market movements
  • Monthly newsletter on regional market movements
  • Quarterly Market review on key trends and insights
  • List of updates on Market Intelligence hub:

  • Competitors updates (regular and by ad-hoc request)
  • Macro-environment & regulatory update and analysis (quarterly and annually)
  • Updates for schools, colleges, and departments (quarterly and annually)
  • - Manage and report on Market Alert hub and Market Intelligence hub usage, performance and efficiency on weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to: review and segment audience's usage, develop plan to increase page visits and audience engagement, and widen audience base.

    - Apply various searching, AI, and writing tools in collecting, analysing and reporting data and insights; proactively look for new/advanced tools to improve work efficiency and intel accuracy.

    - Review on data/intel collection process and procedure on regular basis, and proactively initiate appropriate improvements to streamline overall process, ensure data accuracy and enhance insight representativeness.

    - Conduct analysis and report from desk research and department's sources on:

  • Educational and training programs in Vietnam including but not limited to: non-award programs, HE short courses, double degree programs, post- graduate programs, international high school programs, English and skills training programs, etc.
  • Labour market movements and demand in Vietnam in general and by industries
  • - Coordinate and implement in-house digital research solutions/platform to enable end to end market research activities. List of in-house solutions include:

  • RMIT online panel engagement
  • Video concept development for testing
  • Respondent's online diary/journaling
  • - Work closely with other market research team members to moderate & implement new research design and methodology, review current process and provide inputs based on digital expertise on streamlining the overall process as needed.

    - Collaborate with internal market research team members and budget owners to ensure administrative duties are performed accurately and on time, meeting project timeline and on-budget to meet project's objectives.

    - Perform other duties as required by the Market Research Manager.

    Key Selection Criteria
  • Bachelor's in business analytics, marketing or another aligned major.
  • At least 3 years of applicable experience in market research or marketing.
  • Strong analytical and desk research skills
  • Well-developed planning, organisational, problems solving skills, working independently, or as part of a team.
  • Excellent experience in managing projects relating to market research from inception to completion.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and security when managing information digitally & physically.
  • Demonstrated good knowledge and experience with computer software and platforms, including databases, spreadsheets, presentation software, apps, and social media. Proficient using MO365 suite
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills including coordination, liaison, and communication, both written and spoken, in English and Vietnamese, across a broad range of stakeholders
  • Familiar with various searching, AI and writing tools for desk research and analysis (preferably)
  • Strong agency and commitment to continuous improvement in work processes, to ensure quality outcomes. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • English Proficiency

    English is the language of teaching and communication at RMIT Vietnam. For this role, the minimum requirement is IELTS (General) score of at least 6.0 (or equivalent, as outlined in the Recruitment, Selection and Onboarding Guidelines).

    For any role, English Language Proficiency may also be proven by showing successful completion of secondary education to a level qualifying to enter university study while being instructed through the medium of English, as per the RMIT University recognised qualification list.
