Manufacturing Automation Execution Emotor & Drive Unit EGM

Description

Hybrid: Position does not require and employee to be on-site full-time- but the general expectation is that the employee be on-site and average of three (3) days each week.

The Role

The Manufacturing Automation Execution EGM is responsible for program implementation, plant support for continuous improvement for all Electric motor and Drive Unit locations in North America. Scope of responsibility is from concept through SORP. This position is responsible to lead the engineering team and all associated OEM locations and is responsible for installation and buyoff at GM production locations. This position will require travel to multiple locations to assure SORP dates are achieved.

The EGM will lead initiatives to enable manufacturing operations to be more competitive by improving productivity. The EGM will play an important role in developing strategies and setting direction for current manufacturing systems and new technologies. The EGM will be required to collaborate with process engineering, manufacturing IT, and plant staff.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

  • Manage engineering team, skills development and budget

  • Assure GM controls standards are implemented

  • Assure GM safety standards are followed

  • Manage robot and Vision engineering team

  • Manage robot deliverables for all GPS programs

  • Develop Strategies legacy manufacturing technologies

  • Understand innovations within the industry and how GM can benefit from these technologies

  • Lead Global Collaboration of common software across multiple locations

  • Provide Regular Updates to Management, Maintain Metrics Relevant to current programs

  • Support HRM process - Develop Bench Strength and Support Employee's Career Development.

  • Ensure Direct Reports are Trained and Fully Competent in All Required Technical Areas as Well as Safety

  • Incorporate Lessons Learned and Cost Savings Initiatives into Appropriate Standards.

    Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline

  • 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing engineering environment

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and experience with machining and assembly systems

  • High level of analytical skill with proven ability to solve technical problems, with demonstrated professional performance in related area(s).

  • High level of interpersonal skill required to lead engineers and collaborate with other organizations.

  • High level of organization and planning skills.

  • High level of skill with computer-based office and engineering applications.

  • Global travel is required.

  • Master's Degree in Manufacturing/Business/Engineering or Information Technology
