    The Opportunity

    The Manager - Cyber Security Engineering is a pivotal role responsible for leading and managing the cybersecurity engineering capabilities within Monash University Cyber Team. Working alongside a dedicated team of in-house engineers, contracted staff, and professional service engineers, the Manager - Cyber Security Engineering oversees the building, development, maintenance, and enhancement of our cybersecurity systems and tools. In addition to managing the current infrastructure, this role is instrumental in researching and implementing new capabilities as required.

    As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to strategic planning and the achievement of Cyber Risk and Resilience and university goals as a member of the management team
  • Leading and managing a team of cybersecurity engineers, including hiring, setting goals and expectations, providing guidance and mentorship, evaluating performance and fostering a collaborative team culture
  • Working closely with other security team members to ensure that all cyber defence and response capabilities are coordinated and aligned with overall business objectives
