Position Overview

This position will provide comprehensive maintenance support to Proterra's Maintenance Supervisor and other site leadership team members. You will be responsible for providing a full range of technical solutions to client groups at the site and be in an environment where you can have a greater impact. This position will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and collaborate with team members located at the manufacturing facility.

About the Role – You Will:

  • Performs highly diversified duties concerning the installation and maintenance of production equipment.
  • Performs emergency/unscheduled repairs on production equipment.
  • Performs scheduled repairs and preventative maintenance on production equipment.
  • Performs equipment troubleshooting leveraging mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic skillsets.
  • Read / interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance on production equipment.
  • Have an understanding of machine control logic (PLC) and be able to utilize that understanding in the troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Able to maintain and troubleshoot robotics systems, HMI components, control network components and motor controls.
  • Use a variety of hand / power tools, testing equipment and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas (5S).
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

    • Your Experience Includes

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechatronics degree and/or 5 years of experience working with automation assembly lines (i.e., mechanically, electrically or pneumatics).
  • PLC experience is preferred (Allen-Bradley is a plus)
  • Vision systems experience is preferred
  • Physical Demands Include: May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations; Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds; Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces; Good hand/eye coordination; Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion.
  • Environmental Demands Include; Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions; Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment; Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.
