Maintenance Supervisor

Position Overview

This position will provide comprehensive maintenance supervision and support to Proterra's Battery Maintenance Manager and other site leadership team members. You will be responsible for providing a full range of maintenance solutions to client groups at the site and be in an environment where you can have a greater impact.

About the Role – You will:

  • Execute site maintenance plan
  • Prepare and monitor progress on maintenance schedules (i.e., daily, weekly, etc.) and assign work to meet and ensure those schedules are achieved.
  • Work with cross functional team to maximize operational efficiency of the equipment
  • Hire, supervise, and train maintenance technicians
  • Monitor and manage the team's performance
  • Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
  • Lead all equipment troubleshooting efforts
  • Assist with the development of the maintenance budget and work to ensure compliance
  • Monitor inventory of necessary materials, equipment, spare parts, and place replenishment orders
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • This position will be part of the Manufacturing team that supports Proterra's Manufacturing and Engineering.
  • You will report to the Battery Maintenance Manager and collaborate with other Manufacturing team members located at the facility.

  • Your Experience Includes:

  • Associate degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience as maintenance supervisor or similar supervisory role
  • Strong technical knowledge with the ability to support your direct team members
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices, policies, and regulations
  • Understanding of budget and performance management
  • Strong planning and leadership abilities
  • Physical Demands:
  • May work various shifts as needed; may be requested to travel to different locations.
  • Lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
  • Able to walk, stand, crouch, bench, kneel, lift, carry and reach as needed in large and tight spaces.
  • Good eye/hand coordination and ability to identify color variations, depth perceptions and close or distance visual items.
  • Manual dexterity with occasional repetitive finger motion.
  • Environmental Demands:
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environment with extreme heat and cold conditions.
  • Wear protective clothing or respiratory protective equipment.
  • Works with irritant chemicals, gases, etc.
  • Travel: 0 - 10%
