Onsite: This position requires an employee to be on-site on a full-time basis.

The Role

Machining Tooling Stamping (MTS) Program Manager, the career level process engineer, able to work autonomously with occasional guidance from supervision. Skilled in equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities necessary for the production of parts. Work is performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly/plant activity where creativity and initiative is exercised as well as independent judgment. May involve training others and assigning work to a small group of employees.

What You'll Do

  • Experience with manufacturing processes

  • Establish project schedules to ensure Material Requirement Dates met for each part number

  • Provides technical support for part fabrication process

  • Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs

  • Actively identifies areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities

  • Collaborates with Design Release Engineers on all geometry and trim changes

  • Creates part requisitions in Engineering Material system (EMS)

  • Creates shopping carts in SAP system for direct & indirect materials

  • Learn and implement the principles of GMS. (Global Manufacturing system)

  • Support shop floor to develop their workplace organization, continuous improvements, built-in-quality, problem solving, layered audits, safety observation tours, etc.

  • Responsible for implementing new plans and/or policies, programs, and procedures in a highly technical and specialized area.

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years of experience supervising employees in a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to develop and maintain workload tracking and execution planning parts

  • Developed ability to read design direction through concept proposal sketches and detailed technical construction documents / drawings

  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Work, Excel, Power Point, Teams)

  • Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals

  • Strong, demonstrated interpersonal skills to work effectively and cooperatively with diverse individuals including salaried, hourly, skilled and contract personnel

  • Problem solving & analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult

  • Can – do attitude, work ethic and perseverance

  • High level of interpersonal skills to effectively lead and motivate others

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Can work effectively with UAW skilled trades employees.

  • Capacity analysis and manpower requirements

  • Knowledge of business processes

  • General knowledge of tooling and manufacturing processes

  • Knowledge of GMS principles
