Library Officer (PR0140/23-24)

The Library now seeks an enthusiastic team player to join the Digital Initiatives and Research Cluster (DIR). The successful candidate will provide substantial support for the University's Integrated Research Information and Management System (IRIMS).

Responsibilities:

Handle daily enquiries and requests made by academics and departments;

Participate in consultation and training provisions to the University community;

Support various university reporting that make use of IRIMS data;

Involve in daily research output data verification;

Clean large batches of retrospective publication data collected from various sources and in various formats, then import the data into IRIMS using XML; and

Shift counter duties are required.

Requirements:

Applicants should possess at least a bachelor's degree with 4 years' relevant experience. This position requires solid knowledge of research and publication cycles and metrics, as well as strong work experience in data management and verification. The appointee should have a good eye for detail, good communication skills, and a service-oriented attitude. A good command of English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are important. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an Excel and English written test.

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
