Legal Operations Analyst


Hybrid - Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time but the general expectation is the employee be onsite an average of three (3) days each week.

The Role

The Legal Operations Analyst position is an integral part of the Legal Staff. Analysts are required to be highly motivated team players who are responsible for a wide range of activities including analyzing business unit statistics, monitoring business metrics, and creating graphical and data driven presentations for multiple Legal Staff audiences. Additionally, Analysts assist with related process development, documentation and initiative implementations aligned with Legal Staff's operational objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Address day to day interactions with the Legal Staff's outside counsel and third-party vendor relationships.

  • Assist with the development of pricing models and templates for use with outside legal counsel and third-party vendors.

  • Support the Outside Counsel management program with the goal of retaining/improving quality, increasing efficiency, maximizing value, diversity goals and improving predictability.

  • Help to define standardized billing rates and implement the rate increase request process.

  • Assist with negotiating fee arrangements with outside counsel and third- party vendors.

  • Where necessary, provide innovative solutions for matter-specific alternate fee arrangements (“AFAs”) in partnership with the Strategic Partner and Legal Operations team.

  • Track, analyze and identify trends within outside counsel spend and internal metrics monthly.

  • Create and provide routine and ad-hoc data reporting, data visualization dashboards and documentation.

  • Developing and presenting recommendations based upon business metrics and data trends to key members of the organization, including senior leaders.

  • Assist with related process development and documentation.

  • Understand industry trends, benchmarking, and best practices in legal operations.

  • Partner with colleagues in Legal, Finance, IT, and other departments on initiatives.

  • Maintain and support a culture of legal compliance and excellence.

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.

  • 5 years of financial analysis or Legal Operations experience.

  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite, data visualization and project management software.

  • Proven ability to establish rapport, both internally and externally, and create an environment of continuous improvement.

  • Strong oral and written communicator.

  • Aptitude for critical thinking, process improvement and problem solving.

  • Financial acumen including expert knowledge of researching, collecting, manipulating, analyzing large and complex data sets and succinct data presentation.

  • Commitment to integrity and quality.

  • Demonstrated experience as a self-starter with excellent ability to organize resources and establish priorities.

  • Highly motivated, detail oriented and results driven.

  • Knowledge and experience in key legal trends that impact the organization.

  • Knowledge and understanding of automotive industry environment and business needs is preferred.

    Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is: $65,600 – $100,500. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

    Bonus/Equity Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
