The University of Brighton Social Work department is seeking a new member of staff to join the Approved Mental Health Professional programme team. Your expertise and experience will contribute to the delivery of high-quality qualifying and continuing professional social work education in the School of Humanities and Social Science. The team is seeking a qualified AMHP, preferably with experience of supporting students in mental health practice, who would like to make the move to academia. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative team of social work academics, based in a new home for the School at the Moulsecoomb campus in Brighton.

You should be able to draw both on foundational social work, and specialist AMHP, knowledge and experience as a basis for co-delivering the Post Graduate Diploma in Approved Mental Health Practice and the core qualifying social work curriculum. Applicants will be expected to engage with teaching, assessment, student support and development, both academically and on placement, and knowledge exchange/research.

The post available is part time (0.8 FTE) but fewer hours will also be considered for the right candidate as well as any job shares that may apply. You do not necessarily need to apply with another job share partner.

Applicants must be qualified social workers and Approved Mental Health Professionals registered (or eligible to register) with Social Work England. The start date will be 1st August 2024 and interviews will be held in April. We welcome applications from job sharers.
