About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspirational aviation human factors academic to join our high-performing team to develop further our teaching and research activities. The role involves the design, development, delivery and assessment of postgraduate and continuing professional development courses. It also involves bidding for, leading, and delivering high-quality research and consulting within the field of aviation human factors and publishing in appropriate peer-reviewed journals. This will include supervising MSc and PhD students as well as research staff on projects where you are the lead.
About You
You will be educated to doctoral level in a relevant subject with either experience in a research role at a University; significant experience as a human factors specialist; or experience in an operational role related to aviation. You will also have teaching experience, ideally at the postgraduate level, and be able to demonstrate the ability to publish in high-quality peer- reviewed journals.
For appointment at the Senior Lecturer level, you will be expected to be able to demonstrate a track record of leadership, such as in course management, business development, preparing large funding bids, acting as a Principal Investigator on funded research projects and managing collaborative networks of researchers linked with industry. You will also have experience of successfully supervising doctoral students to completion and a publication track record commensurate with opportunity.
