(anticipated duration 6 months)

UCC wishes to appoint an experienced academic to the role of Lecturer in Occupational Therapy.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative lecturer in Occupational Therapy The successful candidate will play a key role in teaching and supporting the delivery of the 4-year BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy and make a substantial contribution to the Department's research profile.

The successful candidate will have a professional (clinical) qualification in Occupational Therapy and be CORU registered (or eligible for registration) as well as a minimum of 2 years post qualification in a clinical or academic role. A PhD or equivalent research track record in Occupational Therapy or a related field is desirable. Applicants without a PhD must commit to registering for a doctorate degree following appointment.

As well as having experience in clinical and classroom teaching and learning in Occupational Therapy and being research active, the appointee will be expected to supervise student research and participate on Department and College or University committees. Reporting to the Head of Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy, applicants will demonstrate evidence of a commitment to excellence in teaching, curriculum development and research.

The BSc Occupational Therapy programme is located in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy , within the School of Clinical Therapies. Over the past 19 years, the School has developed a range of clinical healthcare programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition, the School has a strong commitment to research and doctoral education, as well as a growing suite of continuing professional development modules supporting life-long learning.

Appointment may be made on the Lectureship Salary Scale: Above the Bar €76,102- €98,557 (Scale B) / €72,406 - €93,628 (Scale A) or Below the Bar €40,185 - €69,632 (Scale B) / €42,232 €66,259 (Scale A)

Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
