The Lecturer/Assistant Professor/Associate Professor position in Teacher Education is responsible for teaching a course load of 12 to 15 semester hours during fall and spring semesters with a minimum of 10 office hours. This position will support developing knowledge and skills related to effective teaching practices, classroom management, and use of instructional technologies; evaluating students relative to CAEP and Alabama Department of Education standards; guiding related field experiences; supervising clinical experiences; working with pre-service candidates/in-service teachers in public school settings; advising education majors; participating in service activities; collaboration with local districts and agencies serving culturally and economically diverse children; collaboration with faculty in assessment, recruitment and retention activities; curriculum planning; and academic advisement.

1. Master's degree in Education 2. Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience 3. Professional Educator P-12 Certificate 4. Knowledge of Alabama state initiatives such as the Alabama Math, Science, and Technology (STEM) initiative, edTPA, Alabama Literacy Act, or other state/national initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
1. Terminal degree in Teacher Education field 2. Three to five years of successful experience in a P-12 school 3. Certification/endorsement/significant work experience in teaching literacy
4. Experience/knowledge of edTPA requirements
Will this position require driving (personal vehicle, university vehicle, utility vehicle, or golf cart) in order to perform the job duties? Driving may be necessary but is not a primary responsibility Work Hours
