An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Polar Museum team at the Scott Polar Research Institute (SPRI), to ensure that all visitors to and users of the education facilities in the museum are served to a consistently high standard. The Polar Museum has an international reputation for the quality and scope of its activities, and its public programme encompasses research, talks, events, and engagement activities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work as part of a tight-knit team to develop and deliver inclusive and accessible projects and activities which engage a diverse range of audiences with the Polar Museum collections and SPRI research as a whole. The role holder will develop, deliver, co-ordinate and administer the Learning and Public Engagement programme, including planning and delivering educational sessions, creating learning resources, co- ordinating formal education visits and activities, and delivering projects with schools, communities and special interest groups.

It is essential the successful candidate is able to work independently and collaboratively with colleagues as well as have the ability to work effectively to deadlines.

Interviews are likely to take place week beginning 5th August 2024. Candidates selected for interview will be expected to give a short presentation. The interview will also include a practical activity.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are currently available for 18 months (with potential for extension, depending on external funding).

Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check (enhanced with children and adults' barred lists), a basic disclosure (criminal records check) check and a health assessment.
