Lead Multimodal Product Designer - Conversational AI Experiences

Are you customer-obsessed, data oriented, and confident in proposing opportunities to improve consumers' experience? We are looking for a talented, curious, and highly motivated Lead Multimodal Product Designer to join our Conversational AI Experiences Design team. The ideal candidate will breathe design and have expertise in Voice/Conversational experiences to help us set strategic direction for omnichannel initiatives. You will join an expanding team working on end-to-end customer experience across channels, and address opportunities, and help drive innovation through user centric practices and design. In this role, you will have an incredible opportunity to be our customer's advocate and develop an inspiring vision and strategy across all channels.

In this role, you would collaborate with other designers, researchers, technologists, and business stakeholders to craft meaningful experiences for our customers through thoughtful data-driven design.


  • Lead complex initiatives to research, benchmark and improve GM's Conversational Experiences and identify key opportunities for our current ecosystem

  • Understand complex business and technical landscapes across the organization and product lines.

  • Build strong relations with internal stakeholders to understand priorities, collaborate on studies and actions to implement product and service solutions.

  • Identify, track, and monitor industry/experience trends and drivers of customer satisfaction.

  • Support prototyping efforts based on user insight and technical explorations.

  • Facilitate workshops, design sessions, and project meetings.

  • Visualize experiences and frameworks using storyboards, customer journeys, user flows, and low-fidelity wireframes and voice prototypesto illustrate vision and align key stakeholders.

  • Align various teams within the organization to ensure a connected end-to- end user experience that delights the target audience and supports business needs.

  • Provide design leadership through influence, judgment, communication, and collaboration to drive design decisions

  • Collaborate closely with team members to craft world-class user experiences across multi-modal products and platforms

  • Balance user needs, technical constraints, and business objectives to solve problems effectively

  • Craft conversational designs for voice-enabled and text-based interfaces, advocating usability and user-centered design principles

  • Create design deliverables to communicate conversational design work including dialog and user flows, sketches, prototypes, screen wireframes, and rigorous multimodal user interface specifications

  • Document end-to-end conversational interactions, from happy paths to rainy days, through sample dialogs, logic flows, and UI

  • Work with key stakeholders to brainstorm and identify opportunities, executing them as a flawless part of the overall user experience

  • Contribute to requirements gathering sessions and user stories from multiple teams and stakeholders

  • Support usability testing efforts by creating prototypes

  • 5+ years of experience creating digital interfaces, large scale websites, or complex software applications across a range of channels (web, mobile, in-vehicle, etc.)

  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and lead teams

  • Ability to combine vision with strong creative and tactical planning

  • Demonstrated experience in developing dynamic presentations in support of strategies

  • Strong portfolio with work samples showcasing expertise in user experience design, craft, aesthetics, and depth of thought

  • Experience in working across organizational boundaries to define, manage, and prioritize work

  • Experience incorporating research into the design process, including contextual inquiry, usability testing, heuristic evaluation, etc.

  • Strong written, visual, and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in common design tools (e.g.Figma, Axure, VoiceFlow, etc)

  • Demonstrated experience documenting both screen-based as well as voice-only experiences

  • Demonstrated experience creating Interactive prototypes for multimodal (voice + visual) experiences

  • Strong abilities in sketching, mocking up, and evaluating interaction design

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise in research for conversational experiences

  • Understanding of Conversational Technologies, foundational elements of Conversation Design and LLMs

  • Workshop facilitation and experience with Design Thinking methodologies

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience (verbal and written).; able to produce and finalize complex documents.

  • Journey Mapping/ Storyboarding/ Wireframing/ Roadmappig


    Compensation : The expected base compensation for this role is: (90,223 - 144,123 USD Annual ). Actual base compensation within the identified
