Lead Engineer, Multi-Body Dynamic Simulation (MBD)

As a lead multi-body dynamic simulation engineer, you will be responsible for MBS model buildup, validation, and correlation and continuously update the model during the development of the vehicle.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Master's and Ph.D. preferred.

  • 8+ years MBS simulation experience in the automotive industry. (10+ years experience for Bachelor degree).

  • In depth knowledge of vehicle suspension, motion kinematics, and overall function of the system.

  • Adams skill is a must.

  • Excellent understanding of vehicle dynamics principles.

  • Solid background of mechanics, kinematics, and vibration.

  • Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of rigid body mode decoupling for the engine or EDU.

  • Good understanding the balance of vehicle dynamic, ride comfort, and vibration.

  • Good understanding of vehicle NVH and isolation.

  • Responsibilities:

  • Develop and evaluate tire, suspension, steering and brakes subsystem models in Adams.

  • Perform ride comfort simulation and provide design change direction.

  • Perform K&C evaluation and familiar with K&C tuning.

  • Understand RLDA and VRLDA and able to help durability group to abstract the load.

  • Develop test plans and provide support for driver-in-the-loop simulator tests.

  • Use simulation to tune the system to satisfy the requirements of vehicle dynamic (steering, handling, acceleration and braking), NVH, and ride comfort.

  • Collaborate with other teams, cross-function check for design changes and provide load information for chassis and durability.

  • Develop CAE modelling methods, requirements & perform correlation studies with physical test data.

  • Work collaboratively with attribute, testing and product teams to enhance the ride comfort predictability.
