The Role:

Factory ZERO is our first, all-electric automotive assembly plant and the blueprint of General Motors' electric future! We have a corporate vision of “Zero crashes, Zero emissions, Zero congestion.” Our most novel products like the Hummer EV and our very first autonomous vehicle, Cruise Origin will be assembled right in this facility. This requires us to employ the most upbeat, capable, and innovative talent to ensure we meet the challenges of developing the new manufacturing processes required to assemble these outstanding products! As the Launch Electrical Diagnostician, you will oversee the design, construction, integration, plant installation, launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools that aid in the production of high-quality parts within Vehicle Manufacturing. The focus will be on future programs to ensure we are capturing the important information and always driving results due to multiple program electrical architectures. This role requires autonomous work, with limited direction from supervision. The ideal candidate will understand equipment/tooling alternatives, sequence, and flow of operations for the utilization of personnel, material, machines, and facilities vital to the overall production.

What You'll Do:

  • Be a member of our Electrical Team - a coordinated, organization consisting of members from Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Quality and Product Development organizations passionate about problem solving the plant's external and internal quality problems.
  • Report to the Lead Launch Electrical Coordinator within that team.
  • Lead electrical troubleshooting efforts for the launch team, focusing on EFTQ issues, using Red X problem solving and strategy-based diagnostics.
  • Build practical items from electrical failures to enable issue documentation and follow up.
  • Leads corrective action plans and workshops during launch to develop database for repair faults (knowledge-based repair systems) in GSIP.
  • Support Final Process Repairers regarding training, troubleshooting vehicle issues, repair root cause entry into GSIP, Service Information schematic and other issues, Plant repair diagnostic tool (GDS2/MDI), and reporting systems.
  • Conduct training of vehicle electrical systems for Team Leaders, so they can support their Team Members

    Your Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in the electrical space of Automotive Manufacturing
  • Experience using MERS, PRTS, SPPS, GSIP, and ECM
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish relationships with multiple organizations within the plant
  • What Will Give You a Competitive Edge:

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or similar field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with automotive electrical sub-systems
  • ASE certification or similar
  • Detailed understanding of GMS as well supporting BIQ4 Deliverables
