We are seeking an experienced Knowledge Exchange Manager to join our dynamic team in a leading role. You will have the opportunity to develop and deliver initiatives to promote and support external collaborations that leverage the University's research expertise as outlined in our Research and Knowledge Exchange Strategy Making a Difference (2022 – 2029). This includes facilitating knowledge exchange through contract and collaborative research, consultancy, testing services, and knowledge transfer partnerships.
In this role, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with academic and external partners, identifying opportunities for income generation through knowledge exchange, and providing support and guidance on available opportunities. You will proactively engage with SMEs, third sector, community, and commercial clients to understand their needs and broker agreements to support collaborative projects.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in knowledge exchange, technology transfer, or related fields, preferably within the university sector or industry. They will possess strong project management skills, a track record of securing income or grant funding, and the ability to identify business needs and communicate solutions in a clear and engaging way. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team with colleagues across the University and have excellent communication, time management and influencing skills. The University of Westminster was founded in 1838 as the Royal Polytechnic Institute. It is one of the oldest educational institutions in Britain. The university received a Royal character and was named University of Westminster in 1992. The current Chancellor is Lady Frances Sorrell and Vice-chancellor Dr Peter Bonfield OBE. Chantal Mouffe (political theorist), Ezra Pound (prominent modernist figure in poetry) and Jean Seaton (professor of media history and historian of the BBC).
The university hostels have 1750 rooms with six halls of residence. The university also helps students to find private residences if they are unable to find a residence in hostels. The university's transport connects all residences to the university. There are various scholarships available for the students, although the University of Westminster does not provide these scholarships. Some of the major scholarships are Brittan Scholarship, Brian Large Bursary Fund, and Westheimer Health and Social Care Scholarship.
