Bus Driver/Maintenance Tech: Drives the assigned college vehicle to
destinations as assigned; adheres to all traffic laws and safety requirements
including pre-trip and post-trip inspections. Performs grounds keeping duties
such as mowing, weeding, and landscaping. Performs non-trade specific repairs
to campus buildings, assists other trades and other duties as assigned.
The salary range for this position is $17.00 to $20.00/hourly.

Responsibilities
40% Drives the assigned college vehicle to destinations as assigned;
adheres to all traffic laws and safety requirements including pre-trip and
post-trip inspections.
10% Keeps assigned bus or vehicles clean and fueled.
10% Completes and submits all required reports and documentation; reports
all accidents, vehicle damage, and student conduct issues or injuries as
they occur.
25% Maintains the campus grounds so that they are clean, safe and in good
condition at all times.
5% Performs maintenance duties and cares for grounds of campus.
5% Monitors campus grounds for cleanliness and attractiveness; disposes of
litter as needed and reports other grounds concerns to the grounds crew
leader.
5% Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
A high school education or GED is required.
Valid Texas CDL (Class A or B with Passenger and School Bus
endorsement). No record of DUI convictions in the past 10 years. Must be
able to pass DOT mandated physical exam. Must be able to pass pre-duty and
randomly administered drug and alcohol tests.
Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in English.
Acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas Education Agency and
the Department of Public Safety. Must meet all state (TEA) qualification
for school bus drivers. Must meet and maintain liability coverage
eligibility.
Knowledge of basic safety techniques when operating grounds keeping
equipment.
The work requires standing, walking over uneven surfaces, recurring
bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or other similar
activities.
Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates
generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining
information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the
form of service to the public (students, visitors or vendors) requiring
ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Occasional exposure to objectable conditions or variations such as those
found in variable weather conditions or light industrial settings.
This position requires three professional references. This position is
considered a security sensitive position and will require a criminal
background check.
