IT Technician (holding the functional title of System Administrator) in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 523794) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have a higher diploma with at least 1 year's relevant work experience. They are expected to learn fast, possess good interpersonal skills and a strong sense of responsibility, and be able to work proactively with our dynamic teaching and learning team under a fast-paced environment. They should possess experience in Linux (Redhat/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server system administration, basic system shell scripting, server hardware setup and maintenance, as well as familiarity with managing storage systems using distributed file systems. Additionally, a basic understanding of High- Performance Computing Clusters, VM/Container technologies, cloud technologies, and familiarity with Python programming language would be beneficial. Fresh graduates with good academic background will also be considered.

The appointee will join the Faculty's IT Team to provide support in maintaining the overall IT infrastructure, classroom support, server administration, and provision of quality IT services for the Faculty. He/She may also provide technical support to events and functions, and perform ad hoc projects as assigned. Working outside normal office hours and on weekends may be required occasionally.
