The Interdisciplinary Graduate Student Advisor is responsible for the overall creative direction and visual consistency of digital marketing initiatives for Academic Affairs Interdisciplinary Schools and related grant projects and onboarding, recruitment, and advising of graduate students affiliated with the schools. Position responsibilities include, student advising and faculty support in cybersecurity, data science, and supply chain, logistics, and maritime operations.

Master's degree required, preferably in Counseling, Public Administration, Higher Education, Marketing, English or related.

  • Working knowledge of aspects of the publication process (content development, editing, design, production, distribution)
  • Knowledge of project research, creative brief development, messaging, and effective ideation for application across print and media
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, oral, web)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to present and promote ideas/concepts to others
  • Training in the use of student information systems
  • Proficient skill in the use of Microsoft Office and applications
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and work independently
  • Demonstrated ability to proofread with attention to detail
  • Analytical skills and proven results in achieving objectives and goals
  • Ability to assess needs, gather/analyze data, and adjust communication/design strategies as needed
  • Knowledge of student development theory and/or counseling
  • General working knowledge of academic vocabulary and requirements
  • Working experience in a marketing or desktop publishing environment
  • Prior advising/counseling experience, preferably in a college or university setting
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in marketing
  • Previous work in higher education
  • Experience in counseling and/or advising students
