Description

Advise university faculty in the application of complex instructional design principles and educational technology to develop courses. Provides expertise to facilitate instructional initiatives.

  • Provide consultation and support for faculty and staff.
  • Research, propose, and participate in decision making for the purchase of new software and technology.
  • Develop and conduct training of faculty on new academic software and technology.
  • Troubleshoot technical and operational issues of technology-based programs.
  • Present and represent University instructional designers at conferences.
  • Collaborate with and assist internal and system-wide instructional designers.
  • Participate and provide leadership in the instructional designer collaborative meetings for the University of Houston System groups.
  • Assume management responsibilities when required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

    This position will report to the College IT Manager to:

  • Build and organize courses in Canvas Learning Management System
  • Assist with maintaining the current Faculty onboarding
  • Assist in the development of software policies and procedures
  • Application administrator for Faculty Zoom Licensing
  • May Be Eligible for Alternative Workplace Arrangements

  • Department is willing to accept Experience in lieu of Education
  • Qualifications

    Masters and 3 years experience

    Requires application of advanced principles, techniques and theory in a professional discipline or a thorough general business management knowledge. Knowledge of this level is typically obtained through a directly job-related Master's degree or equivalent formal training in a recognized field of specialization that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related duties as assigned.

    Salary: 3,881.00 - 5,047.00
