How will you contribute?

Briefly, as a Junior R&T Engineer, you'll:

· Perform the job according to plans and directions.

· Organize your own day-to-day activities.

· Gain proficiency on knowledge of discipline, RDI methodologies, technical instruments and protocols.

· Work on RDI project(s) contributing to the achievement of specific objectives, the development of prototypes or applications, the performance of experiments and tests according to predefined protocols or techniques.

· Work under close supervision.

General role and responsibilities as a Junior R&T Engineer

Your duties may include:

  • Performs RDI engineering duties under the supervision and guidance of engineers and/or scientific staff. It may include: contribution to the conceptualisation and designs of engineering systems or models, perform experiments and tests following predefined protocols or techniques, assistance on the development of prototypes, implementation or set-up of tools/equipment, specialised programming, etc.
  • Identifies, defines, and addresses problems in the project(s); makes analysis, evaluation, and synthesis of information; carries out comprehensive literature review in your field of interest to gain specialisation and expertise; interprets results and drafts conclusions.
  • Documents test or experiments proceedings and traceability of results. Ensures the quality of the delivered results.
  • Develops an increasing level of independence in the conduct of your duties.
  • Interacts in a collaborative manner with other team members to achieve goals.
  • Assists to the dissemination of RDI results by contributing to the drafting of technical reports. May present your own work at workshops or conferences.
  • Learns to use specialised tools/equipment and advanced analytical techniques or methods. Keeps updated on best practices.
  • Takes responsibility for your own skills and career development.
  • Respects and applies LIST-HSE rules. Alerts of potential dangers or risks. Takes care of your own safety and that of others.
  • Specific Responsibilities for Digital Twin Development
  • Develops, implements, and maintains digital twin technologies using cloud- based solutions such as Azure Digital Twin, FIWARE Scorpio, Orion, or Eclipse Ditto.
  • Participates in the design and deployment of digital twin architectures and models that replicate physical systems for simulation, analysis, and optimization.
  • Works on integrating real-time data streams and historical data into digital twin models for accurate and dynamic representation of physical entities.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify requirements and develop solutions that leverage digital twin technology to enhance operational efficiency and predictive maintenance.
  • Utilizes advanced data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence techniques to analyse data from digital twins and provide actionable insights.
  • Develops and maintains cloud-based infrastructures and platforms supporting digital twin applications.
  • Ensures the scalability, security, and robustness of digital twin implementations.
  • Documents and shares best practices, methodologies, and standards for digital twin development within the team.
  • Engages in continuous learning to stay updated on the latest advancements in digital twin technologies and cloud computing.
  • Technical Skills Required

  • Design, implement, deploy, document, and maintain full-stack applications (React, Typescript, JavaScript, Python), using CI/CD pipelines and containerization (GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Introduction to machine learning frameworks and libraries for developing simple predictive models and algorithms.
  • Data acquisition, processing, and analysis with ETL tools and notebooks or other tools (Jupyter, Python, Benthos, Grafana).

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Some knowledge or experience on methods and techniques required for conducting experiments and tests.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluent in English, written and oral. French is preferred but not mandatory.
