The Role
The HSE Officer, is a specialist role responsible for providing coordination, coaching and advice on a range of health and safety issues to assist the university community to identify and appropriate control HSW risks at work.
The role will have a broad understanding of risks ranging from chemical and biological, occupational health, office safety, fire safety, trainings to hazardous manual tasks and psychological.
The role will also be responsible for regular reporting on risk profiles and controls and will contribute to the projects as required.
Skills and Experience
Bachelor or Master degree in Health & Safety, minimum 03-year experience in Construction Safety related jobs
Understanding of legal requirements and standards on Health & Safety for construction.
Demonstrated ability to diagnose, analyse, conceptualise, and provide creative solutions to complex consultancies, projects, and issues.
Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships and relationships in a collaborative manner with key internal clients to support the University's business objectives.
Proven capability to consult, interact and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated project management skills including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Demonstrated experience in conducting HS risk assessment across a range of complex activities.
Well-developed planning and time management skills in meeting deadlines and managing conflicting demands.
Proven ability to develop clear and concise written communications including proposal, audit reports, procedures & policies.

The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology usually known as RMIT University is a research university established in Melbourne, Australia. Francis Ormond laid the foundation for the university in 1887. It initially began as a night school where courses related to technology, art, and science were offered to students. The university was granted the title of the public university in 1992.
