The General Motors HR Team is looking to fill 2 executive level director roles - 1 supporting the Global Engineering space and another supporting the Sales, Service & Marketing and GM Energy spaces. Both roles are Hybrid, located in Warren, Michigan.

The individuals selected for these roles will be required to ensure that in accordance with the HR strategy and business unit people strategy, the below HR experiences are operationalized for the maximum impact for the business year over year. (Including, but not limited to):

  • Employee engagement insights and improvement plans
  • Investigations
  • Organization Design Planning
  • Executive Succession Planning
  • Employee & Leader career development planning
  • ARC of performance coaching & PFI management
  • Recruitment plans supporting overall business functional needs
  • Leadership coaching
  • Team effectiveness coaching and facilitations
  • Talent Spotting
  • Year-end performance and compensation facilitation
  • These individuals must be able to; with data, showcase the impact they team is having on moving the organization forward whether it be a talent pipeline, organization design or culture standpoint.

    Required competencies or behaviors:

  • Collaboration & Influencing > Communicates frequently and often in advance of a specifics need so that others broadly understand all important aspects of the topic. Recognizes potential sources of conflict (from process to culture) and proactively acts on ways to solution. Works to foster people working together more effectively. Has a portfolio of influencing styles and is agile on their use depending on the audience. Extremely self-aware on own style and preferences compared to the stakeholders and their needs.
  • Team Leadership > Listens intently and creates a safe environment for teams. Uses different approaches (visionary, democratic to directive) to engage, motivate and enhance the team.
  • Customer Focus > Develops measurable KPIs to align work again and anticipates evolving customer needs and how HR can address them.
  • Additional Description

    Experiences/ Background:

  • Preferred to have had more than 2 years' experience leading leaders
  • Supporting a client of over 10,000 employees that have a global presence
  • Conducted large scale organization transformations and realized the impact from it, organization design to the change management
  • Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.
