HR Analytics Lead

Job Description

The HR Analytics Lead will support the HR People Analytics Services and Systems (PASS) team by performing high-level business analyses and developing analytical solutions to improve the company's operating performance. The HR Analytics Lead will scrutinize data to ensure high quality and will recognize and identify patterns. With extensive knowledge of data modeling techniques and tools, a successful incumbent will design visualizations to help the HR organization and business leaders make data- driven decisions.


  • Responsible for translating business needs to model/analytics design, conducting data analysis, and leading testing and deployment activities. Work with HR stakeholders to solicit and document functional requirements for development of new analyses, enhancements to existing analytics, and data visualization.
  • Develop business KPIs for the purpose of identifying trends and evaluating the success of business initiatives.
  • Develop reporting and perform analysis using BI tools to develop insights- driven talent strategies. Deliver strategic insights and recommendations to help develop actionable interventions that improve talent effectiveness. Share complex data results in a format that is easily understandable for the business to tell a story and make sound decisions.
  • Utilize excellent interpersonal skills when working with various customers and peers to accomplish expected outcomes through the presentation and analysis of HR data displayed in analytical visualizations.
  • Proactively identify and implement scalable operational efficiencies, recommend improvements, innovative solutions, and/or policy changes across HR platforms based on a keen understanding of technologies and HR processes.
  • Build project plans, ensure adherence to project schedules, and collaborate with leadership and stakeholders to set priorities and outline long-term analytics recommendations.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership around data governance and analytics.
  • Develop and maintain training documentation for internal and external HR teams, including developing procedures, guidelines, and updating SharePoint pages.
  • Establish and maintain quality assurance practices to ensure that delivered dashboards, reports and analysis are complete, correct, accurate, and defensible every time.
  • Identify, investigate, pinpoint, and bring to resolution analytics/reporting tool and data issues of various types.
  • Build and modify HR reports in Employee Central (SAP HCM), including Table and Canvas modules, to satisfy the reporting requirements gathered from HR stakeholders.
  • Safeguard the privacy of employee data from improper use and disclosure.
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline processes and make recommendations on ways to reduce manual work.

  • Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred; or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years analytics experience, preferably with HR data, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, and delivery using Power BI or Tableau.
  • Advanced proficiency using Power BI (or Tableau).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Advanced to Expert Level Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Including high level of competency leveraging the following functionalities:
  • Complex formulas and functions. Examples: XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX MATCH.
  • Charts and Pivot Tables
  • Power Queries, Macros, or VBA
  • Must be a self-starter/take initiative.
  • Ability to quickly prototype and transform ideas into high-quality work products.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and determine appropriate steps to progress even when dealing with uncertainty.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure, with a proven ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects, handling production support needs, changing priorities, and following-up in a timely manner.
  • Able to work efficiently both individually and as a team, managing projects and deadlines, sharing best practices, and adapting to change with a strong customer focus.
  • Willingness to shift from high-level critical thinking to stepping in and helping to drive implementation alongside HR team.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex solutions well to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated success working with clients and staff to identify issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • Solid critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information responsibly.
