HR Adviser (Workforce Planning)

We have an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the small team responsible for the successful implementation of the Casual Workforce Project which has been identified as key strategic priority for the HR Division.

Reporting to the HR Strategic Lead of Workforce Planning, your main responsibilities will include:

Providing specialist support and advice to departments undertaking reviews of their workforce under the Casual Workforce Project;

Support departments to make the cultural shift in managing casual workers through ongoing education;

Carry out research and analyse to assist with resolving problems e.g. to address the challenges and risks associated with implementing a new guaranteed minimum hours contract;

Develop strategies and plans to ensure effective communication across the University to all stakeholders;

Input into project planning and risk management to deliver organisational objectives;

Build and develop strong working partnerships with managers, colleagues, specialists and other key stakeholders to deliver requirements and mitigate risk;

Actively participate in the broader work of the HR Policy and Strategic Projects Team by providing advice, working cooperatively on team projects and focusing on team objectives.

What you will need:

Substantial experience in either an HR generalist or specialist role, including operational exposure to application of employment law, employment status, case management and organisational change management;

Exceptional standard of written and spoken English, with experience of writing reports and web material to a high standard for publication;

Experience of implementing project planning and management methodology,

A proactive approach to delivering outputs to quality and on time, working autonomously and through others;

Well-developed influencing skills;

Ability to analyse problems at strategic and operational level, identify root cause and develop a range of creative and innovative solutions that will add value;

Graduate with membership of the CIPD or equivalent level experience in a generalist HR role.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available until 31 July 2024 in the first instance, on a part-time 0.8 FTE basis.
