The Dean of the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University announces a selection procedure for the job position of

the Head of the Department of International and European Law

full-time, fixed term 3 years

The Department of International and European Law at the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University, is involved in teaching and research in three fields: public international law, private international law, and European Union law. The department complements the teaching and research of other departments with a transnational perspective. Academic staff of the department present and publish their research outputs at both domestic and international scientific conferences, focusing on the traditional approach to legal research as the interpretation of legal sources and their creation. The focus of the department mainly lies in teaching within the five-year master's degree program. Additionally, the department organizes the bachelor's degree program "International Trade Law Studies" and also offers a doctoral program in "International Legal Studies".

Main activities:

• Responsibility for the pedagogical and scientific activities of the department and achieving the desired outputs and results,

• Personnel management of the department (motivation, evaluation, and career development of employees),

• Responsibility for the management of entrusted resources,

• Close cooperation with the faculty management,

• Own pedagogical (including preparation of study and teaching materials), scientific research, and publishing activities.

Qualifications and other requirements (mandatory):

• University education with a master's degree in Law,

• Academic or scientific title of Professor or Associate Professor (Docent),

• At least 10 years of professional experience in the field,

• Active pedagogical and scientific activity and willingness to guarantee specialized subjects taught at the department,

• Personal and professional prerequisites for leading the department,

• Ability to teach and publish in Czech and English, additional language skills are an advantage,

• Fulfillment of the conditions according to Act No. 451/1991 Coll., as amended, not required for persons born after 1 December 1971,

• Moral integrity.
