Our Legal Team

We support and enable Veritone's business by providing professional, timely and constructive legal advice and services to internal and external stakeholders; we seek to minimize Veritone's liability and exposure by developing and implementing appropriate internal policies, processes and procedures; we act with efficiency, agility and creativity, all as a competitive advantage; we administer Veritone's legal affairs so as to contribute positively to our company's financial success and prospects and maximize our company's return to its stockholders; and we aim to foster a culture of innovation and excellence, while upholding the highest standards of ethics and integrity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

The Head of Legal, EMEA / APAC is a critical role on our global Legal team. You are responsible for partnering with all stakeholders, including senior leadership, employees, customers and shareholders, to enable the efficient operation of our business in the EMEA region. You must be exceptional at building trusted partnerships and provide professional, timely and constructive legal advice and services to our business partners in the EMEA region. Your responsibilities include the following in the EMEA region:

  • Manage all regional legal affairs, functioning as Head of Legal for the EMEA region
  • Support business functions in all commercial and legal matters
  • Prepare, draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements, including:
  • Customer license and services agreements
  • Vendor license and services agreements
  • Master services agreements
  • Consulting and professional services agreements
  • Reseller, referral partner, channel and strategic partner agreements
  • Data protection agreements
  • Non-disclosure agreements
  • Assist sales team in review and evaluation of requests for proposal and preparation of responses
  • Develop and maintain standard forms of agreements, terms and conditions, proposals used by the company, including periodic reviews and updates
  • Work closely with information security team on data protection and security matters
  • Oversee the administration of contracts management system (including automated contract generation, workflow tracking, contract monitoring, central contracts repository)
  • Support all company SEC compliance obligations
  • Manage regional corporate acquisitions and divestitures, including due diligence activities, review and drafting of transaction agreements and post-closing integration activities
  • Support Finance team in audits, financial reporting and various tax and insurance matters
  • Support People Operations team in matters related to employee relations, benefits (including sales incentive plans), employment offer letters and agreements and other employment matters, as needed
  • Review and address legal and business issues in support of all other company functions and provide advice and counsel as necessary and appropriate
  • WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • Legal degree from a leading law school
  • Licensed to practice law in England
  • 5-7 years legal experience; Big Law experience required and in-house experience a plus
  • Broad knowledge of and experience in corporate, securities and commercial law
  • SaaS or other software licensing experience a plus
  • Proficient in Word, PPT and Excel, with ability to grasp other software applications required to perform job duties
