Job Summary
To manage all aspects of a successful intercollegiate D-III baseball program .

Key Results/Responsibilities
Ensures integration of baseball program activities to College mission and
culture.
Recruits prospective student-athletes in order to reach the teams' target
roster size.
Retains and graduates student-athletes at a rate higher than the overall
college rates in order to generate positive net revenue for the college.
Coaches in a manner that results in successful performance in order to
create a positive image of the college in the minds of the community,
alumni and other prospective students.
Ensures compliance with NCAA, MIAC and internal policies and procedures;
reports any known or suspected violations promptly to the Director of
Athletics.
Demonstrates knowledge and experience with the rules, techniques and
culture of collegiate baseball.
Administers all aspects of the baseball program including budget, team
travel, scheduling and documentation to insure the smooth operation of the
teams and efficient use of the college's resources.
Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, reviews and evaluates the work of
assigned staff; provides technical assistance to staff; inspects and
evaluates work being performed; identifies problem areas and directs
remedial actions to be taken.
Assists with alumni outreach and fundraising initiatives.
Stays informed of developments in field; reads pertinent literature,
attends meetings and educational classes and participates in professional
associations as appropriate.
Maintains a variety of records; makes periodic and special reports of work
performed.
Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the department's
service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or
participating as an active member of a work team.
Facilitates an environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for and
development of skills to engage respectfully with all individuals from
various backgrounds
Communicates with AD and fellow coaches regarding elements of team
management that affect the department or other teams
Attends athletic staff meetings and division meetings and functions
Performs Community Service in order to present a positive image of the
college and to help our student-athletes “learn to touch the world”.
Demonstrates strong cross-cultural competency skills to assist student-
athletes navigate a diverse College environment.

Required Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree and four years of collegiate baseball coaching experience;
OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Knowledge of:
Principles, practices, strategy and tactics of an intercollegiate baseball
program.
Principles and practices of program planning, development, implementation
and administration.
NCAA student-athlete academic eligibility requirements and recruiting
regulations.
Computer applications related to the work.
Budget and financial record keeping practices.
Principles and practices of employee supervision, including selection,
work planning, organization, performance review and evaluation, and
employee training and discipline.
Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact effectively with diverse
student populations.
Skill in:
Developing and implementing program and project goals, objectives,
procedures and work standards.
Planning, organizing and implementing baseball athletic programs and
activities.
Providing professional advice and counsel in a respectful and effective
manner.
Exercising sound independent judgment within general procedural
guidelines.
Preparing clear, concise and complete reports, correspondence and other
written materials.
Planning, directing and reviewing the work of others.
Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands.
Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or department
goals, objectives and activities.
Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with team members,
coworkers, students, alumni, and community.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and
certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or
revocation.
Valid driver's license.
AED/CPR certification within six (6) months of date of employment.

Mobility to work in a typical athletic and office setting. Ability to
communicate effectively with current and potential student-athletes. Must be
able to work indoors and outdoors in conditions that include extreme
temperatures. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision and distance vision. Need to be able to travel for long periods of
time.
Preferred Qualifications
Effective group verbal and written communication skills.
Master's degree.
Head Coaching experience.
Managerial Experience.
