Description

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite 3 days per week at the GM Global Technical Center - Cadillac Tower in Warren, Michigan.

The selected candidate must reside or relocate to within 50 miles of Warren, MI . Relocation may be provided.

As a member of the GMNA Order Fulfillment Team , this position plays a vital role in providing an outstanding customer experience to wholesale and retail employees by using investigative and negotiation skills to resolve transportation damage situations in a fast paced, detail-oriented, team environment. The Major Damage Liaison, New Vehicle Damage will coordinate activities related to GM Dealer Business Center (DBC), escalations of major transportation damage as reported by GM dealerships. The Major Damage Liaison, New Vehicle Damage will also assist dealerships with claim submission, gathering claim support, claim reject resolution, and vehicle disposals.

Responsibilities:

  • Review carrier delivery receipts, collision repair estimates, and vehicle damage photos to make a repair or no repair decision, keeping the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and GM's best interest in mind at all times
  • Interface with GM Wholesale employees and retail dealerships with transportation claim resolutions
  • Interface with GM Logistics Claims staff to resolve transportation claim disputes
  • Perform functions and activities necessary to process both scrap & repairable vehicles
  • Understand the New Vehicle Receiving and Inspection Process and Policies
  • Create and maintain relationships with internal & external stake holders
  • Maintain electronic records of all activities and decisions made with respect to individual vehicle repair decisions
  • Stay current on company-wide and industry standard methodologies/trends relating to collision and estimating
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 5 years equivalent experience required
  • 5 years of GM Field Service or Retail Dealership Repair Service experience required
  • 5 years of automotive product knowledge and experience required
  • Experience with collision estimating preferred
  • Knowledge of industry repair estimating labor guides preferred (ex: Mitchell, Pathways CCC, GM Flat Rate Labor Guide)
  • Demonstrated ability to persist in the face of setbacks
  • Proven track record with respect to operational agility, adaptability, and exceptional organizational skills
  • Proven ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • Competencies:
