Global Purchasing & Supply Chain Data Analyst - Python

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be on-site on average 1-3 days per week

The Role: Do you have deep understanding of monetization, data gathering and insights? Have you lead large organizational operations and mentored teams? Do you a real passion for insights? The Business Analytics team is responsible for data gathering, inspecting, cleansing, transforming, and modeling/diagramming techniques.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with business, IT, and analytics community to capture, prioritize, and document data analytic requirements and drive measurable results.
  • Creation and implementation of queries, compiling data, manipulated data from separate sources to form unified sets for analysis.
  • Query development to address adhoc and standard reporting request
  • Establishment and maintenance of all internal SharePoint tracking reports
  • Problem Solving activities to help identify gaps in claim to supplier assignment, claim end to end processing (Life of a claim) and system inaccuracies
  • System testing to identify necessary logic corrections
  • Collaborate with global cost recovery teams to align communication and reporting
  • Identify business challenges and develop analytical solutions to optimize business processes.
  • Partner with business teams to understand the requirements of new business initiatives.
  • Present analytical approaches and results to internal audiences by synthesizing complex data and concepts into easy-to comprehend, comprehensive, and cohesive presentations.

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research or related field.
  • At least 5 years of hands on experience with BI and Analytics tools required
  • Proficient with analytical/predictive modeling software (Python or R) required.
  • Experience with database and data warehousing platforms (MS Access, SQL Developer, Greenplum, HUE, Hadoop)
  • Must have strong drive for results.
  • Research or experience in data analysis where problems are poorly defined, complex and cross functional and possess uncertainties and multiple objectives
  • Deep understanding of BI tools: Excel, Reporting Tool Consumption (MS Power BI, Cognos, Tableau)
  • Strong business domain knowledge - business analytics, marketing data, automotive and understanding the exponential change within this domain are paramount to success
  • Thrive in a collaborative atmosphere and believe in the power of innovation through differing viewpoints
