Functional Analyst

The Functional Analyst role is vital to the integrity and flexibility in our systems, to support business needs now, and in the future and is crucial to the support, integrity and enhancement of University Finance systems and associated reporting tools. The purpose of the Functional Analyst role is to work alongside an expanding team to support BAU systems tasks and to investigate, log and provide solutions to complex functional and business process issues across all Finance System modules.

You will investigate issues, formulate options for a way forward and produce specifications setting out solutions, liaising between the business and development teams where appropriate, to ensure business requirements are translated fully and accurately.

The Financial Systems Group team can offer training opportunities in this role. If you do not meet all the essentials criteria but could be assumed to do so in a reasonable time frame, we can offer a milestone progression plan. The substantive grade for this post is Grade 9. You would be under appointed at Grade 8 in recognition of your need to undertake further in service training before being sufficiently experienced to perform the duties of the post fully. Your progress in the post will be reviewed regularly and on satisfactory completion of your training you will be paid at the appropriate point on that grade. It is expected that the progression to Grade 9 will be achieved within the two years of the post.

  • Have extensive experience of working in a second line support role.
