  • This is an exciting opportunity to work with Professional Services colleagues, academics, students and alumni in the Faculty of Kingston School of Art (KSA), to build and grow external engagement with employer and institutional relationships that meet the strategic goals of the Town House Strategy and enhance its global reputation and market credibility.

    You'll use your excellent communication, administration and customer service skills to support the Placement Team provide a highly effective, responsive, and adaptable administration service, for engagement activities related to placements for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. It also includes income generation (summer schools, student study trips), alumni relationships, communication campaigns and partnerships.

    The Person

    You'll be educated degree level or equivalent and will have customer service and relationship management skills and experience.

    On a personal level, going above and beyond to deliver exceptional support across the business engagement spectrum will be your core motivation. You will use your excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to keep things on track and your experience of working with employers to integrate professional practice across everything you do.

    Constantly seeking to improve, you'll scrutinise your own work, build Faculty and Directorate networks, and work collaboratively and flexibly to manage multiple streams of activity within deadlines to achieve results.

    This is a part-time, fixed term position for one year with a starting salary of £22,243.20

    About the employer

    Founded in 1899, Kingston University London began its operations with courses specialising in chemistry, electric wiring, building construction, nursing, dressmaking and clay modelling. In 1926, it was recognised as a technical college by the Board of Education. In 1992, the university was renamed as Kingston University from Kingston Polytechnic.
    The institution has campuses in and around Kingston, United Kingdom. It also has a campus in Friars Avenue, London, and another campus at Crammer Terrace, London. Its Penrhyn Road campus, Kingston Hill campus, Kingston School of Art at Knight's Park and Roehampton Vale campus are linked together by the University's free inter-site bus service.

    Every campus is easy to reach as there are two mainline train stations, a network of bus routes, and major motorways. Also, both Gatwick and Heathrow international airports are easily reachable from the campus by both road and public transport. Within the university, there are four faculties that are Kingston School of Art, Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, Faculty of Health, Social Care and Education and Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing. Each faculty in the university offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in specific streams.

    Moreover, all these faculties undertake research in related areas of study. As per the December 2018 report published on the university's official website, it had 16,499 students out of which 3,158 were non-UK students. Each faculty has world class facilities. The Kingdom School of Art comprises world-class facilities, such as 3D materials workshop, digital media workshop, hackSpace, moving image workshop, photography workshop and printmaking studios. The Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing maintains various facilities, such as Scene of the Crime House, Learjet Lab and Centre for Augmented and Virtual Reality environments.

    The university has a list of notable alumni. In the field of entertainment and film, the alumni of the university include actor Ben Barnes, American model, actress and journalist Angie Bowie, actress Jessie Cave, Hong Kong actor Sam Chan. In the field of arts, the alumni include artist and illustrator Eileen Aldridge, Turner Prize nominee artist Fiona Banner, photographer Richard Bryant, product designer James Irvine, product designer Jasper Morrison, and sculptor David Nash. In the field of fashion, the alumni of the university include Harper's Bazaar editor in chief and journalist Glenda Bailey, and fashion designer Felipe Oliveira Baptista. In the field of architecture, there are David Chipperfield and Alexander Yusuf.
