The Role:

The Facilities Shift leader is a people leader who is responsible for the team and business operations; looking ahead and growing the capacity for future success. They have responsibility for providing leadership and mentorship to the facilities operations team, ensuring overall success of the team.

What You'll Do: As the Facilities Shift Lead you will be responsible for daily interface and coordination of all facilities related activities for their respective teams and/or business unit to ensure high quality and timely delivery of building maintenance and housekeeping services

  • Maintain open communication between the tenant and Sustainable Workplaces
  • Drives strategic and analytical planning to optimize building and facility services guided by industry benchmark standards including but not limited to: space utilization (move service center, furniture/ergonomics), energy efficiency, Service Agreement deliverables, and On-Demand activities
  • Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff
  • Drives successful planning and execution of all Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles and elements
  • Responsible for supporting the workspace transformation projects by actively engaging with the Space Planning team in the change management process
  • Ensuring issue and resolution of daily tenant needs and longer term projects by pulling in the required resources such as Engineering, Resource Management, Communications, Real Estate, Food and Administration Services
  • Responsible to ensure the Service Provider is meeting our GM Global Safety standards, including: Speak up for Safety, Global Call to Action, Safety Observation Tours, employee safety concerns, incident investigation, safety module compliance, and sentinel events
  • Passionately communicate the benefit of the operations teams throughout the value streams in manufacturing and non-manufacturing Drive attainment of daily facility operational goals on the campus at all levels of management (enabling consistent facility management, maintenance, energy supply, cleanliness, environmental compliance and material handling initiatives)

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or 3-5 years of equivalent professional level of experience in facilities or industrial systems maintenance .
  • 5+ years of experience with facilities and maintenance
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other municipal, regulatory and environmental regulations.

  • Preferred - mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems
