The provision of accommodation is a key strategic imperative for the University. A successful accommodation portfolio and its strategic planning underpins Curtin's growth objectives, supports students in their transition to university life, and provides enduring commercial benefit to the University.

The Senior Manager, Accommodation has overall commercial and contract management responsibility for governing the successful performance of the Master Operating Agreement (“MOA”) including the management of the contract relationship, obligations, and outcomes, monitoring the delivery of key performance indicators, and making informed commercial decisions that balance risk and reward. This complex partnership involves multiple parties who perform the management, maintenance, asset lifecycle planning, capital improvement, pastoral care, and administration on behalf of the principal parties being Project Co. and Curtin University.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Manage a complex Master Operating Agreement (MOA) governing our student accommodation operations.
  • Engage with key external partners including Live-In Learning, UniLodge, St Catherines, Programmed, and Nesuto Hotel.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders from Student Life & Community, Safer Communities, Financial Services, and Legal to ensure compliance with the MOA.
  • Liaise with faculty members regarding accommodation needs and requirements.
  • Monitor reports submission and performance validation against the MOA.
  • Oversee the Contract Management Plan and assess contract risks, including service levels, critical incidents, and commercial performance.
  • The successful applicant will have:

  • Proven experience in leading and administering complex service-related contracts or Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs).
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
  • Capability to navigate between strategic and tactical delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • As this is a permanent position, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role to be considered.
