The Executive Assistant to the Vice Provost for Student Affairs (VPSA) provides executive-level support and coordination for the VPSA. Duties include managing the VPSA's calendar; screening and prioritizing inquiries and requests; coordinating logistics, making travel arrangements; preparing materials for, and notetaking at meetings; providing general administrative support; conducting and compiling research for the VPSA; drafting communications; and planning and implementing events for the Division of Student Affairs (DOSA). As a primary point of contact within DOSA on behalf of the VPSA, the Assistant to the VPSA exhibits sensitivity, professionalism, and confidentiality when responding to email, telephone, chat, and in-person inquiries from all stakeholders (students, families, academic and administrative collaborators, and external entities), and provides detailed information and referrals across a wide range of topics. The position is responsible for supporting the mission, philosophies, and priorities of DOSA and UVM, including the promotion of an inclusive environment and experience for students and staff of all races, ethnicities, religions, national origins, genders, sexual orientations, abilities, and ages. As the primary administrative support for the VPSA, the Executive Assistant designs and oversees processes that aid in efficient operations and optimizes the VPSA's workflows and time. The position reports to the VPSA and works closely with members of the DOSA leadership team and the Office Manager for the Vice Provost and Dean of Students Office.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Associate degree and five years' relevant experience including executive-level support required. Proficiency in Microsoft productivity tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and a demonstrated ability to learn new applications (e.g. Drupal, Adobe Acrobat, Slate). Effective administrative, time management, interpersonal and communication skills required. Effective planning/coordination skills and attention to detail required. Ability to exercise discretion regarding confidentiality and sensitivity. Must possess multicultural humility and a demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Desirable Qualifications

Experience working within higher education or with students. Event planning experience is desirable.
