Offer Description

The Masaryk University in Brno Faculty of Pharmacy is seeking a candidate for a European Research Area (ERA) Chair position.

The goals of the project:

To solve the targeted delivery and transportation of active ingredients (drugs) into the target cell environment, MUNI Pharm will establish an interdisciplinary center of excellence (Center of Excellence in Advanced Pharmaceutical Technologies) focused on advanced technologies in modern advanced drug formulations. Creating an international ERA Chair team combining leading experienced researcher/innovator with younger scientists and PhD students will ensure a successful establishment of the center combining excellent research, high-level education, and top innovations.

To maximize the impact of the research center creation and its contribution towards the institutional and regional cooperation, strong interconnections between present academic workplaces (departments) of MUNI Pharm, workplaces of Masaryk University (Faculty of Science, RECETOX, Faculty of Medicine, and CEITEC), University hospitals Bohunice and Saint-Anne's, and FNUSA-ICRC (International Clinical Research Center) and the new center will be established. The future sustainability of the center will be ensured not only through applying for Horizon Europe, national agencies, and other sources of funding but also through the MUNI BioPharma Hub project funded through the Recovery and Resilience Plan (the Czech Republic, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS), allocated funds 2 billion CZK). MU will thus integrate the pharmaceutical and medical research into MUNI BioPharma Hub “under one roof,” and the ERA Chair holder will strongly contribute to the organization and running of that project.

The center of excellence under the ERA Chair leadership and its integration into the research space of MU will accelerate the translation of scientific results in nanotechnologies in cooperation with the Technology Transfer Office of the faculty or MU into practice. Furthermore, the R&D realized by the center will bring the connection to other academic workplaces in the region and the industrial sector.

We therefore seek a highly motivated and detail-oriented Researcher of the R4 category to conduct in-depth investigations, analyze data, and drive innovation in our field. Such as research will be invited in preparation for the project. If you have a passion for research and a desire to push the boundaries of knowledge, we want to hear from you.

The successful candidate should commit himself/herself to a full-time or part- time position as the ERA Chair holder for the entire grant period 2025-2030 (in case of positive project evaluation and funding). The ERA Chair holder will report to the dean of faculty and the scientific board of faculty.
