Description

Responsible for the operations of a complex center or multiple departments at the university. Oversees staff and budgets, and projects.

  • Administers a complex center or multiple departments.
  • Manages budget and engages in strategic planning to ensure all goals are met.
  • Hires and directs the activities of staff. Resolves personnel issues as they arise.
  • Engages in budget-planning, grant oversight, and policy development.
  • Implements new programs and projects, and monitors ongoing activities of department or center.
  • Reviews department policies and processes and implements improvements as needed.
  • Represents department or center to internal and external constituents.
  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

    Core Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of Dr. Conra Gist, support the Educator Diversity Lab Educator Diversity Research-Practice Partnership (RPP) Director composed of a pilot cohort of RPPs around the country, and manage the local RPP related to Community Teacher Equity Development (CTED) program

  • Support coordination, communication, and execution of multiple research agendas

  • Apply strategic thinking to complex problems, identify ways to assess progress, maintain alignment among efforts related to educator diversity, and provide meaningful insights
  • Design, conduct, and improve processes for the National Center for Research on Educator Diversity (NCRED) RPP Lab.
  • Manage the implementation and success of the NCRED Educator Diversity RPP Lab by driving cross-functional stakeholder engagement, communications and other change management elements
  • Drive large, complex projects, providing a continuous improvement perspective and helping leadership and teams make key decisions
  • Collaborate with the NCRED fellow to strategically advance the dissemination of the knowledge base
  • Support the design and facilitation of meetings and convenings to build capacity

  • Develop and manage relationships within the partnerships and organization with ease

  • Prepare and contribute to publication materials, reports, and presentations that clearly communicate key goals and strategies
  • Represent the RPP related to Community Teacher Equity Development Program in meetings and participating, as appropriate, in external opportunities
  • Facilitate collaboration with other parts of the organization to drive systemic solutions across projects
  • Qualifications

    Bachelors and 7 years experience

    Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 7-8 years of professional experience, with proven experience in successfully designing and managing complex projects and initiatives, specifically, multi-year research projects
  • 5+ years of experience working in education
