  • General Role Overview

    The Director, Technical & Field Services is responsible for strategic implementation and management of FITS (Field Intensive Technical Service). This leadership position requires an experienced EV service professional who has provided expertise and leadership in all field service-related processes, systems, tools, and resources.

    Our ideal candidate will have a passion for and a deep understanding of the latest EV technologies. You exhibit a can-do attitude to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with key stakeholders to improve product and diagnostic quality, reduce warranty cost, and increase customer satisfaction.

    Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement FITS global strategy and manage US operations.

  • Previous experience rolling out OTA.

  • Must be hands-on with SAP and cloud with a strong understanding and direction for OTA sequencing.

  • Can provide suggestions and recommendations for OTA rollouts and able to communicate cross-functionally between Engineering, Business, and Aftersales.

  • Establish efficient processes to identify and report complex technical issues in the field as well as effectiveness of diagnostics, software updates, repair plans, and corrective actions.

  • Build a high-performing FITS team and create a positive environment by fostering open communication and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Manage and mentor Technical Specialists to improve operational “Fix Right the First Time” KPI's, such as response and deployment time, repeat repair, and customer satisfaction.

  • Collaborate with Service Engineering to monitor, investigate, and solve emerging technical issues.

  • Aid in the development and improvement of service diagnostic tools and processes.

  • Influence required technical training requirements and development.

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a relevant technical discipline.

  • 10+ years of experience in successfully managing a Field Service team, with hands-on working experience using advanced service diagnostic tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, CANape, etc.

  • Working knowledge of EV OTA Technology is a must.

  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Competencies

  • Outstanding technical problem-solving abilities based on the mastery of engineering principles.

  • High process orientation, Lean Six Sigma experience is a plus.

  • Eagerness to learn innovative technologies.

  • Ability to organize and drive continuous improvement.

  • Ability to perform in a high-pressure environment and to meet tight deadlines.

  • Willingness to take ownership of jobs and work independently beyond assigned position to successfully complete them.

  • Extremely organized and detail-oriented.

  • Strong communication skills to work with internal and external partners at all levels within the organization and to represent Fisker in a professional manner.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently. Additional language skills are a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Working Conditions

  • Must be willing to work overtime, early hours, late hours, and/or weekends to meet deadlines and goals for a global company.

  • May be exposed to service workshop environment that requires lifting moderate weights, standing for long hours, wearing personal protective equipment, etc.

  • Expected Salary Range

    $127,750 to $197,800 per year.

    Additional Compensation

    Salary is one part of total compensation which includes bonuses, equity awards as applicable, and benefits. An employee is eligible to participate in Fisker's equity program, subject to the rules governing such programs.

    Fisker provides comprehensive medical, prescription, dental, vision, and disability insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Fisker covers most of the premiums for employees.

    The salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors including market location, job-related knowledge, education/training, certifications, key skills, experience, internal peer equity as well as business considerations. Fisker reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position within the salary range listed, taking into account the wide variety of factors listed above.
