We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Quality and Continuous Improvement to lead our organization's efforts in maintaining and enhancing product and service quality, operational efficiency, and overall excellence. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record in implementing quality management systems and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to achieve high-quality standards across all aspects of the organization and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Position Responsibilities

  • Quality Management System: Develop, implement, and maintain robust and effective quality management system changes in accordance with aerospace, defense, and munition industry standards and best practices for the business.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee and monitor all quality assurance activities (internal and external), including inspection, testing, and auditing processes to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Lead the design and implementation of continuous improvement programs to optimize processes, increase efficiency, and enhance overall organizational performance.
  • Data Analysis and Metrics: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and continuous improvement efforts, analyzing data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and root causes of issues.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Stay abreast of industry regulations, quality standards, and best practices, ensuring the organization's compliance with relevant requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to the quality and continuous improvement teams, fostering a culture of accountability and professional development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to ensure quality is integrated into every aspect of the organization.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employees' understanding of quality management principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks to product quality and operational efficiency, developing risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Champion a customer-centric approach, driving initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction and resolve quality-related issues promptly.
  • Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation and creativity within the organization, encouraging employees to contribute ideas for process improvement and product development.
  • Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  • Proven experience (12+ years) in quality management and continuous improvement roles, preferably in a similar industry, with a majority of those years in leadership positions.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing quality management systems, Lean, Six Sigma, Design for Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to use data- driven approaches for decision-making.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams and direct staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Certifications such as Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Design for Six Sigma Green Belt, or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt are desirable.
  • Experience with project management and change management principles.
  • A track record of successfully driving process improvements and achieving tangible results.
  • Strong commitment to customer satisfaction and quality excellence.

  • The salary range for this role is:

    $165,882 - $248,823
