To manage, plan, and direct the daily operations of the professional education and workforce development center. Responsible for identifying, evaluating, and implementing effective professional education programs and workforce development initiatives in collaboration with regional internal and external stakeholders in alignment with the University's vision for continuing and professional education.
Description of Duties
Supervision Received
General supervision from assigned supervisor.
Supervision Given
Direct supervision of assigned staff.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Education or related field from an accredited university.
Preferred Education
Master's Degree in Business, Education or related field from an accredited university.
Licenses/Certifications
None.
Required Experience
Five (5) years of closely related experience, including a track record of developing and implementing learning and development and/or professional, continuing education, or workforce/economic development programs. Knowledge of workplace learning strategies and industry practices related to adult learning, performance improvement, instructional design, training delivery, learning technologies, and evaluation. Working knowledge of workforce and economic development and career counseling for adult learners. Experience formulating and overseeing program budgets.

Use of standard office equipment. Knowledge of online learning technologies as they support curriculum and instruction.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office Environment; some travel, evening and/or weekend work is required. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Other
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of diverse audiences. Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize multiple activities and tasks simultaneously. May be required to work evening and/or weekends. Travel across the Rio Grande Valley region is required.
