Role Overview

The Diagnostics Support engineer works in close collaborations with Aftersales, IT and Development teams to assist in the development of diagnostic processes, systems and resources so that technical issues can be immediately identified, reported and addressed. He or she will manage day-to- day activities of Advanced Diagnostics Technical Specialists (ADTS) to perform the best-in-class remote diagnostics using the latest Over-The-Air (OTA) technologies, e.g. assisting global technicians, programming software/firmware OTA, recognizing emerging trends, resolving difficult to diagnose issues, supporting diagnostics ecosystem, etc.

This technical position requires an experienced EV service diagnostic professional who can improve product and diagnostic quality, reduce warranty cost, and increase customer satisfaction. He or she must exhibit a can-do attitude to effectively work with ADTS team and ensure fix right the first time (FRTFT).

Must Have Skills:

  • Create a positive team environment by fostering open communication and cross-functional collaboration
  • Look after repair cases by working with market technical and customer teams
  • Assure availability of OTA systems and remote diagnostics applications; troubleshoot and report issue to minimize downtime
  • Promptly identify and report complex technical issues in the field as well as effectiveness of diagnostics, software updates and repair plans
  • Collaborate with Service Engineering to monitor, investigate and solve emerging technical issues
  • Strong validation experience on Diagnostic Standards & Protocols: CAN ISO 15765, UDS ISO 14229, SAE J2012.
  • Good understanding on CAN protocol and CAN log analysis.
  • Good understanding of vehicle EE architecture, Vehicle schematics and components and wiring.
  • Experience in Remote Diagnostics, DoIP test, flashing over the air.
  • Experience on issue troubleshooting on vehicle, diagnostics measurements, and calibration.
  • Vehicle functional validation, Vehicle intensive test, vehicle integration testing.
  • Experience in functional integration testing Powertrain, Body electronics, Chassis, infotainment, ADAS.
  • Validation of diagnostic Tests & UDS procedures (like Routine $31, IO$2F, write $2E, Read $22, Security $27, DTC $19 & $14 for AMT ECU.
  • Basic Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (5+ additional years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to customer service.
  • Highly motivated with very strong interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team
  • Flexibility to balance competing initiatives, multi-task between project development and customer support, and adapt to changing business and technical requirements
  • Experience working in and contributing to a team-oriented, collaborative environment that values positive, collegial relationships among co-workers
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in high volume workload situations
  • Project Management skills is a plus
