Offer Description

The development of algorithms based on neural networks, in particular graph neural networks, and their implementation on large-scale high-performance computing infrastructures, is of fundamental importance for the reconstruction of 4D vertices with the MTD detector for the LHC phase-II CMS experiment. The impact of the vertex information and therefore of its timing, has a significant impact on the sensitivity in the searches for new long-lived particles in the context of various new physics models, such as for example the HSCP and Hidden Valley models. The project aims to develop and optimize the vertex reconstruction algorithm and to estimate the impact of temporal information for the analysis of new physics events with long-lived particles with MTD simulation. Furthermore, the development of the analysis with Run-III data collected by CMS will be pursued.
