This is a full-time benefits-eligible position. Working hours:

Serve as designer for materials to be produced in digital and print formats.

Collaborate with writers and designers to conceptualize and design materials used in recruitment and retention.

Work collaboratively with senior designer and brand manager, director and other team members in the execution of university branding initiatives, campaigns and events.

Conduct photo shoots and serve as photographer as needed for high-impact initiatives.

Work with the Integrated Marketing & Communications (IMC) web team and integrated marketing specialist to provide photos, icons, infographics and other design items for the UCM website.

Attend meetings with clients from various university units.

Education & Formal Training Bachelor's degree (Specify field(s) of study below) Other Education & Formal Training

Bachelor's degree in commercial art, graphic design or related field.

Education may be substituted for experience or experience substituted for education based on the following equivalencies: AA = 2 years; BA/BS = 4 years; MA/MA = 6 years; PhD = 8 years.

Computer Skills Word-Processing, Presentation, Desktop Publishing, Other - Internet search, social media Experience

Two (2) years of designing four-color publications required.

Two (2) years of using design software including at least two of these three: InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator.

Knowledge of using Mac computer hardware required

Knowledge of printing pre-flighting required.

Knowledge of digital printing process and equipment preferred

Supervisory experience managing creative professionals preferred.

Knowledge of branding guidelines preferred.

Agency experience preferred.

Licensing experience preferred.

Photography experience preferred.

Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, email marketing campaigns, and web responsive design preferred.

Must submit portfolio and publication/web samples as a part of the application process.

Must have full-spectrum color vision correctable to 20/20 including being able to distinguish varying shades of gray and amounts of contrast.

Mental skills, including concerntration, memory, complex decision making, analytical thinking, and/or conceptual thinking.

Understanding of print, digital and electronic media.

Understanding of protocol and social expectations.

Exceptional creative layout, design and art skills; must have the ability to conceptualize and visualize.

Understanding of postal rules and mailing specifications.
