Cybersecurity Governance Manager


Hybrid: This is a hybrid position within our IT Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite but also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week.

The Role

The Cybersecurity Governance Manager cooperates in a broad cross-functional capacity to execute global cybersecurity strategy. By fostering collaboration, increasing awareness, and enhancing engagement we support organizational cybersecurity objects. Through analysis, development, and coordination of information our efforts to secure sensitive information.

Together our partners and Cybersecurity Governance team seek opportunities to assess tasks, plan, and execute in a timely manner. Our role is pivotal in the enterprise practices around cybersecurity with exposure to senior leaders around the organization. Driving the corporate and industry facing GM Cybersecurity strategy and leadership to encompass our customers, products, and assets.

What You'll Do

  • Lead planning and execution of the organization's business plan, key strategies, and initiatives; participate in complex projects, handle special assignments, and confidential material.

  • Lead industry initiatives and partnership engagement with content development and review; idea generation, event planning and network distribution.

  • Lead Cybersecurity Management Board and Risk & Cybersecurity Committee annual project plan development, content review, and facilitation.

  • Partner with corporate organizations to support the execution and communication of cybersecurity risk and mitigation efforts (Strategic Risk Management, Communications, Legal, Public Policy, etc.).

  • Lead cross-entity/domain teams to collaborate and communicate successfully to

  • Create holistic views of corporate cyber risk, mitigation strategies, and governance of capability maturation

  • Lead ecosystem cybersecurity architecture projects

  • Execute GM Maturity Scorecard management and evolution to NIST CSF 2.0

  • Lead GM's cybersecurity awareness strategy

  • Corporate-facing, enterprise-wide awareness activities

  • Coordination with industry forums and communities

  • Manage the GM Corporate Cybersecurity Crisis Management Plan

  • Process development, mapping, and orchestration with applicable organizations

  • Awareness Roadshows (internal corporate functions, specific business teams, corporate, 3Ps…)

  • Business focused incident response exercises

  • Facilitate GM's supply chain risk management

  • Ensure alignment and inclusivity of all domains and entities

  • Maintain a holistic focus and streamline supplier engagement

  • Focused considerations for JVs and partners

  • Support internal and external communications; ensure appropriate communication and coordination between business partners, other functional areas, etc.

  • Prepare, manage, and facilitate the organization's business/technical meetings, set agendas to ensure high impact topics & efficiency, follow-up on action items.

    Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • Completed 4-year degree or equivalent experience with 5–7 years of post- graduation work experience

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-pressure environment and to handle several requests/deadlines

  • Self-motivated with a willingness to take initiative and a high level of analytical ability to take on complex challenges where problems are unusual or difficult.

  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for results.

  • Work in a complex time environment and show the ability to negotiate and influence others

  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with local and global team members to solve problems and resolve issues.

  • Highly proficient in organization, time management, and adept at written, oral, and visual communication skills.

  • Strong understanding of a breadth of integrated processes.

  • Global clock availability.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • 2+ years of experience in a related role.

  • Experience within GPD, GMIT or Manufacturing.

  • Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is: $90,200 - $144,100. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

    Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
